Summary:

Recruiting & retention is a challenge for every company right now! Our panel will discuss at the current trends in the labor market & share successful strategies for recruiting & retaining compliance & ethics professionals. We’ll also take a look at tips & tricks for sustaining your compliance initiatives in the midst of staffing turnover.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand current trends in recruiting, hiring, and compensation in the ethics and compliance labor market
  • Develop successful strategies for recruiting & retaining compliance and ethics professionals in the current labor market
  • Learn tips and tricks for maintaining your compliance program initiatives when dealing with staffing and resource challenges.

Audience: This event is open to all compliance & ethics professionals.

CEU/CLE: We are happy to provide up to 1.2 credits for SHRM.  This education activity has been submitted to the Compliance Certification Board (CCB)® and the GA Bar and is currently pending their review for approval of CCB CEUs (SCCE) and CLEs (GA Bar). Credits will be issued based on actual run time and attendance.

Additionally, participants can request a participation certificate to use to self-submit for other professional development credits, including CPEs with the GA State Accountancy Board.

  • Robert Graff | Major, Lindsey & Africa, Partner, In-House Counsel Recruiting & Co-Managing Partner, Atlanta Office
    Since 1998, Bob has worked on a wide variety of in-house placements, specializing in general counsel searches for PE-backed portfolio companies for firms such as Roark Capital, Francisco Partners, Ares, Towerbrook, Vista Equity and GenStar Capital. He also regularly works in the fintech space for payments and specialty finance clients as well as consumer goods and healthcare organizations. Bob has placed more than 300 attorneys in-house ranging from junior counsel to general counsel and covering the full spectrum of practice areas.
  • Benjamin Yao | Boehringer Ingelheim, US Compliance Operations Team Lead
    Ben leads the US Compliance Operations team at Boehringer Ingelheim, a top 20 international pharmaceutical company with US headquarters in Connecticut. Ben has 15+ years of global and US compliance experience within the Life Sciences industry, having spent the first half of his career in compliance consulting working with over three dozen companies. After leaving Huron Consulting Group, Ben transitioned into pharmaceutical compliance leadership roles and currently serves as the US Healthcare Compliance Officer for BI and its family of subsidiaries, including BI Animal Health headquartered in Duluth, GA. Ben is a 2015 graduate of the Evening MBA program at Emory’s Goizueta Business School, and resides in Dunwoody with his wife and three daughters. He is originally from the suburbs of Chicago and a die hard Bears and Cubs fan.
  • Colleen Christensen | Georgia Pacific, VP Compliance & Ethics – Business & Capabilities
    Colleen has been with GP for 14 years in various audit and compliance roles.  Before joining GP, Colleen worked in the Audit practice at PwC in Atlanta.  Colleen has a Master of Accountancy and BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia and is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia.
  • Melissa Hall | Georgia Tech, Deputy Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer

    Melissa oversees Ethics and Compliance Programming, and Investigations. Melissa has been with Georgia Tech for 12 years in audit and compliance.  Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Melissa was a CFO in K-12 education and an audit manager in public accounting.  Melissa is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional.
