Summary: Join us for a practical primer on U.S. antitrust law, designed specifically for compliance and ethics professionals. Experienced antitrust counsel will cover foundational legal concepts, recent enforcement developments, and common risk scenarios, with a focus on how compliance teams can help mitigate antitrust risk and support effective compliance programs.

Audience: This event is open to all compliance & ethics professionals and those in related fields.

Location: This is a virtual program conducted on the Zoom platform. Access link will be provided to registrants with their order confirmation.

CEU/CLE: We are happy to provide up to 1.25 credits for SHRM. This education activity has been submitted to the Compliance Certification Board (CCB)® and the GA Bar is currently pending their review for approval of CCB CEUs (SCCE) and CLEs (GA Bar). Additionally, participants can request a participation certificate to use to self-submit for other professional development credits, including CPEs with the GA State Accountancy Board. Credits will be issued based on actual run time and attendance.

Emily Newton focuses on high-stakes business cases, with an emphasis on handling antitrust matters and class actions in a variety of industries. She also specializes in fiduciary litigation, representing trustees, executors and beneficiaries. A partner in our Trial and Global Disputes practice, Emily has experience handling all aspects of litigation, including through trial.

Emily serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Market, March of Dimes, serves as Chair Elect of the Mary Lin Education Foundation Board, and is a former Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia, Business Law Committee.


Christopher Yook   |   Partner, Antitrust   |   King & Spalding

Chris Yook represents clients in antitrust and consumer protection matters pursued by the Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, and State Attorneys General. A leader of the firm’s Antitrust and Consumer Protection practice, Chris is known for handling complex litigation matters, including some of the largest class actions in the U.S. He also regularly advises companies on the antitrust implications of strategic business decisions.

Chris is recommended in the Legal 500 US guide and was named a 2023 D.C. Rising Star by the National Law Journal. In addition, Chris has been recognized as “One to Watch” and a “Rising Star” by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers. He currently serves as Chair of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law’s Technology Committee. Chris also sits on the board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Maryland and is an American Bar Foundation Fellow.
